6. How do I take the best care of my AÉRÉ garment?

We are grateful to hear that you would like to take proper care of your AÈRÈ pieces and do your part in keeping them looking sharp and ensuring their long lifespan. Here are a few ways to do so:

  1. Most of our garments in woven fabrics should be hung when not being worn. Each piece is made of high-quality materials and through a careful process, thus, not deserving to be tossed in a pile. When hanging trousers, we would firmly suggest you use hangers with trouser clips, pinned at the waist of the pants. If the pair’s design has a press fold, then it is important to follow it and use it as your main guidance when folding them before hanging them in your closet.

Shirts and sleeveless tops can be hung on relatively narrow hangers, while finer blouses, in silk for example, may be hung on a slightly wider hanger. Jackets and vests in lightweight fabrics and thin shoulder pads should be hung on a medium-width hanger. Use wide hangers to hang jackets and coats in medium to heavy weight fabrics and bigger shoulder pads. Yet, no matter the width of the hangers, always use ones that are curved at the ends so to avoid having unpleasant marks on the shoulders of your clothing item.

  2. We would not recommend you clean your AÈRÈ garments too often. It would be preferred you trusted professionals to clean your pieces, for example an environmentally friendly dry cleaner. Furthermore due to the fibers’ self-cleaning properties, especially woolen clothing pieces can easily be refreshed by being hung in the fresh air.

Note: About washing in generel you should do it in a careful manner. Always sort your items by color and wash them as recommended on their label and always prefer a low-spin cycle. In any case, you should not tumble dry your garments, as that would be bad for your clothes, but also for the environment.

  3. If you wish, you can use a lint roller to remove any fluff stuck on your clothes, but always make sure not to pull on any of the fabric’s threads while sliding it over the surface. When used with care, a lint roller can help you freshen up your garment, so it appears crisp once again!

  4. Always iron your AÈRÈ pieces with caution. Besides our shirts and the area of the press fold on our trousers, all of our garments must be ironed inside out, especially over the seams. That is so the seams will not be visible, and the fabric will not turn shiny on the right side-out. However, clothing items with lining are usually very difficult to iron. Thus, we would suggest you use a steamer instead or if you have a dry cleaner you trust, you can ask them to steam it for you. When ironing one of our shirts, you should always do it from the right side-out.

  5. Of course, to give your AÈRÈ pieces the longest possible lifespan, you should always dress for the occasion. We understand that you dress to impress, but if you’re planning to spend your day at a rock festival, you should probably not choose your finest silk blouse as part of your outfit. Maybe a more robust item, than a delicate silk blouse, would be a better option. Not because the item is not of high-quality, but because different materials require different levels of care.
